How to Take a Screenshot

how to take a screenshot

There are several ways to capture a screenshot, depending on your computer and the content of the image. One of the easiest ways is to press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. This will copy the entire screen image to your clipboard. From there, you can paste it into any program that accepts images. Alternatively, you can click and drag the image to the desired location. After capturing the screen, you can edit it with the desired program.

Once you’ve captured the screen, you can share it with others. You can e-mail a screenshot to a friend, or upload it to a social networking website. If you want to show someone what you’ve been working on, you can capture a screenshot and send it to them via email or Facebook. You can also save screenshots for reference. If you don’t want to email your screen shots, you can also save them to your computer as an image file.

Another way to capture a screenshot is to use the Snipping Tool. You can find this program in the Windows Start Button. When you click on the Snipping Tool icon, the screen will become light and will turn into a crosshair icon. You can draw a box around the area you wish to capture. Release the button when done and the screenshot will appear. It will have a copy shortcut on it.
